Josh Gottheimer, the U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey's 5th district, has recently shared several updates on his activities and initiatives through social media. These posts reflect his engagement with both local community events and broader legislative efforts.

On March 10, 2025, Gottheimer highlighted the talent of high school artists in his district by announcing the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. He expressed enthusiasm for the submissions from these young artists, stating: "Jersey’s 5th district is home to some of the most talented high school artists We’re excited to see your 2025 Congressional Art Competition submissions." The tweet included a link for artwork submission.

Later that day, Gottheimer addressed concerns regarding potential cuts to critical social programs. He tweeted about sending a letter and report to House Speaker Johnson, emphasizing the adverse effects such cuts could have on seniors and families in New Jersey. He urged protection for these programs by stating: "Second, I’m sending a letter and report to House @SpeakerJohnson outlining the devastating damage cutting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid will have on Jersey seniors & families."

In another post made at the same time on March 10, he announced his support for legislation aimed at preventing the closure of Social Security offices. He introduced this initiative as part of an effort to maintain government efficiency without resorting to abrupt reductions lacking strategic planning. His statement read: "First, I’m helping introduce the Keeping Our Field Offices Open Act, to suspend the closure of all Social Security offices."
