Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey's 5th District, has been vocal about various issues through his recent social media posts. His comments reflect concerns over government policies and their impact on his constituents.

On March 11, 2025, Gottheimer expressed his opposition to a funding plan proposed by the far-right government. He criticized the plan for its potential negative effects on families in New Jersey, stating "Tonight, I’m punching back against the far-right government funding plan that completely screws over Jersey family, seniors, children, and veterans."

Later that evening on March 11, Gottheimer showed support for journalists at the Bergen Record who decided to walk out due to prolonged mistreatment. He emphasized the importance of local journalism by saying "Strong, independent local journalism is vital to any healthy democracy and an informed public — and it must be preserved."

In another post on March 12, 2025, Gottheimer highlighted his concerns regarding cuts to the U.S. Department of Education's budget. Reflecting on his personal connection as a son of a teacher, he stated "As the son of a teacher, I know the US Department of Education provides critical support and resources for Jersey’s students with disabilities, early childhood education, and our teachers. Gutting it is reckless and will hurt our children."
