Josh Gottheimer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey's 5th District since 2017, recently shared several concerns on social media. These posts address significant issues such as the shutdown of Social Security field offices, cuts to veterans' affairs staff, and a tragic bus accident.

On March 10, 2025, Gottheimer criticized the Trump Administration's decision to close 47 Social Security field offices. He expressed concern that this action "will cause severe delays to our seniors’ checks & benefits". In response, he mentioned his Senior Security Strategy aimed at protecting seniors from what he describes as "far-right extremist chaos."

The following day, on March 11, Gottheimer addressed another pressing issue concerning veterans' services. He opposed the reduction of workforce at the Department of Veterans Affairs by stating that cutting 80K workers "will only hurt those who risked their lives to defend our freedoms." He also introduced his Support Our Veterans Strategy comprising three bills designed to support veterans and enhance essential services they rely upon.

Later on March 11, Gottheimer commented on a bus crash involving children. He expressed deep sorrow over the incident and conveyed his thoughts for those affected by stating "My heart sank when I learned about the bus crash involving so many children last night." As details were still emerging, he offered prayers for everyone involved.
