Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey's 5th district since 2017, has recently expressed his concerns on various issues affecting his constituents through a series of tweets. Born in Livingston, New Jersey, and currently residing in Wyckoff, Gottheimer is known for his advocacy on financial and social matters.

On March 7, 2025, Gottheimer highlighted the issue of rising property taxes in New Jersey. He stated that "Jersey is being kneecapped as property taxes hit an all-time high — averaging more than $10K per family." He emphasized the need to lower these taxes and reiterated his commitment to restoring the SALT deduction to alleviate the financial burden on middle-class families in North Jersey.

In another tweet posted later that day, Gottheimer condemned antisemitic remarks made by Kingsley Wilson from the Department of Defense Press Secretary's office. He remarked that "The antisemitic conspiracy theories that have come from the @DepPressSecDOD Kingsley Wilson are disgusting and reprehensible." He further asserted that such views should not represent those serving in uniform.

Additionally, Gottheimer addressed concerns regarding Social Security benefits for seniors in New Jersey. In a tweet from March 7, he noted that "More than 1.6 million Jersey seniors depend on @SocialSecurity," criticizing DOGE’s management for causing disruptions and delays which affect these crucial benefits.
