On March 9, 2025, Gottheimer emphasized the importance of the bipartisan CHIPS Act. He stated that "The bipartisan CHIPS Act, which I helped negotiate and pass, is critical to standing up to China and strengthening US innovation." He expressed concern over layoffs affecting workers in this sector, arguing that such actions could weaken the United States' position globally and result in job losses.

Later that day, Gottheimer celebrated receiving a high score from an environmental organization. He tweeted at 20:32 UTC that he was "honored to receive a 97% score from the League of Conservation Voters on their National Environmental Scorecard."
