Representative Josh Gottheimer, serving New Jersey's 5th district since 2017, has made several statements through social media in recent days. Known for his bipartisan approach, Gottheimer has provided comments on legislative actions and social issues. These positions are partly shaped by his politico-academic background, which includes a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Harvard University.

On March 31, 2025, Gottheimer announced his involvement in proposing the Prevent Tariff Abuse Act. He emphasized the necessity of congressional consent in imposing tariffs, stating, "I am also helping introduce the Prevent Tariff Abuse Act, which clarifies current law to make it explicitly clear that the President cannot impose tariffs under the guise of a national emergency without congressional approval."

Later that day, Gottheimer tweeted about Trans Day of Visibility, expressing his ongoing support for the rights of transgender individuals and his commitment to the LGBTQ+ community. He affirmed, "On #TransDayofVisibility, we honor the achievements and contributions of the transgender community. As a proud member of the @EqualityCaucus, I will always fight for and protect the LGBTQ+ community."

On April 1, 2025, Gottheimer praised the focus of fellow politician Senator Cory Booker on the needs of New Jersey families. In his tweet, he remarked, "With all the chaos coming from this Administration, @SenBooker is focused on commonsense — getting the backs of hardworking Jersey families. I'm proud he is fighting for Jersey on the Senate floor."
