Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, recently expressed his concerns regarding women's rights and health care through a series of tweets. As Women's History Month is observed, Gottheimer is taking action to challenge what he describes as efforts by far-right extremists to undermine women's rights and safety.

On March 28, 2025, he stated, "We’re witnessing a full-scale assault by far-right extremists on women’s rights, safety, and health care in real time. As we mark Women’s History Month, I’m fighting back with new action:" indicating his intent to address these issues.

Continuing his efforts, Gottheimer posted the same day, "I’m sending a letter to @NewJerseyOAG Matt Platkin to urge him to use every tool at his disposal to enforce federal law and hold anyone who threatens patients or providers at reproductive health care clinics accountable." This step suggests his commitment to ensuring the protection of reproductive health care rights through legal means.

In a third tweet shared on March 28, 2025, he criticized the President's actions regarding reproductive health care attacks, "The President said he’d “protect women whether they like it or not,” yet he’s handing out get-out-of-jail-free cards to those who have attacked reproductive health care clinics. It's completely disgusting." Here, Gottheimer highlights what he views as contradictory behavior by the President surrounding this critical issue.
