Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey's 5th district since 2017, has recently shared his views on several issues through social media posts. Gottheimer, who was born in Livingston, New Jersey, and holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University, expressed his concerns regarding educational policies and community engagement.

On February 8, 2025, Gottheimer criticized former President Trump's decision to dismantle the Department of Education. He stated: "I won’t let extremists play games with the education and futures of our children. President Trump’s move to kill the Department of Education is insane and against our Jersey Values."

The following day, February 9, 2025, he encouraged participation in an initiative aimed at honoring veterans. He tweeted: "Teachers, #ValentinesForVets allows our students in NJ-5 to thank our veterans for their service. Send your students’ letters to one of my District Offices! Our vets & active-duty service members always have our backs, and I’ll always have theirs in Congress."

Later that same day, he reflected on the unifying nature of sports events like the Super Bowl. His message read: "Every year, #SuperBowl Sunday unites the country No matter who you support today, eat some good food & spend time with your loved ones as we watch some great football "
