Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey's 5th district since 2017, recently shared his views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Gottheimer, who has been serving in Congress after replacing Scott Garrett, highlighted concerns ranging from economic challenges faced by middle-class families to legislative efforts against antisemitism and a tragic plane crash incident.

On January 31, 2025, Rep. Josh Gottheimer addressed the economic struggles of middle-class families in New Jersey due to the high cost of groceries. He pointed out that "four main meat producers control 85% of the market — jacking up prices." In response to this issue, he announced his intention to introduce legislation aimed at tackling these "meat monopolies" with the goal of reducing food prices for families in New Jersey. "While middle class Jersey families are struggling with the high cost of groceries..."

Later that day, Gottheimer emphasized the importance of combating antisemitism through legislative means. He described the HEAL Act as "crucial" for continuing efforts against antisemitism both in New Jersey and across the United States. He stated that this bipartisan and bicameral bill is designed to ensure that history does not repeat itself regarding such discrimination and hatred. "The HEAL Act is crucial to ensuring we continue the fight against antisemitism..."

In another tweet posted on February 1, 2025, Gottheimer expressed his concern over reports of a small plane crash in Northeast Philadelphia. He conveyed his heartbreak over hearing about casualties resulting from the incident and extended gratitude towards first responders at the scene while offering prayers for those affected across state lines. "I'm closely monitoring reports of a small plane crash in NE Philly..."
