Josh Gottheimer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey's 5th district since 2017, recently shared his views on various issues through social media posts. Gottheimer, who succeeded Scott Garrett in Congress, has been vocal about matters affecting both national and local interests.

On February 1, 2025, Gottheimer expressed relief and determination following the release of hostages held for over a year. "After 484 days of unimaginable suffering in captivity, 3 more hostages, including Keith Siegel, a 65-year-old American-Israeli citizen, are back with their loved ones." He further emphasized his commitment to securing the release of all hostages still detained.

Later that day, he addressed concerns regarding potential changes within federal law enforcement agencies. "Reports that the Administration is considering firing thousands of nonpartisan FBI investigators are outrageous." As Co-Chair of the Law Enforcement Caucus, Gottheimer stressed the importance of maintaining an independent law enforcement system.

In another post on February 1st, Gottheimer commented on tax policy using an acronym for state and local taxes. " = State + And + Local + Tax Full SALT Deduction > SALT Cap" This tweet highlights his stance on advocating for full deductions rather than caps on these taxes.
