On December 10, 2024, Rep. Josh Gottheimer expressed condolences to a colleague facing a personal tragedy. He wrote: "Sending my deepest thoughts and prayers to my colleague and his family during this unimaginable time. My heart aches for your loss and I am praying for you and your family."

Later that day, he announced bipartisan efforts with local and state police to ensure safety ahead of New Jersey hosting the 2026 World Cup. In his post, he stated: "Ahead of NJ hosting the 2026 World Cup, I’ve announced bipartisan action with local and state police to keep our families safe. Our security is not a ball that we can kick down the field until it’s too late."

In another update on the same day, Gottheimer introduced new legislation aimed at expanding federal grants for local law enforcement to enhance radar system availability. He emphasized support for law enforcement by saying: "Second, I am introducing new legislation to expand federal grants for our local law enforcement to help make radar systems more available to state and local police.
