In 2022, DEP attended numerous community engagement sessions with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency throughout the state meeting with overburdened communities to discuss residents’ environmental justice concerns.
In 2023, DEP along with Governor Phil Murphy and the State of New Jersey will continue to work toward improving and strengthening Environmental Justice by engaging with communities facing environmental concerns and challenges. It is our focus for this year to implement the strongest environmental justice law and continue our commitment to environmental justice.
