"Every good party needs planning. And when that party is going to celebrate the 250th birthday of our nation, we need to start that planning a little sooner."
Earlier today, Governor Murphy announced a $25 million investment in Revolutionary War sites across New Jersey. These historic sights are being renovated in anticipation of July 4, 2026, our nation's 250th anniversary:
The Old Barracks & Battle Monument in Trenton
Princeton Battlefield State Park
Monmouth Battlefield State Park
Proprietary House in Perth Amboy
Indian King Tavern in Haddonfield
The Wallace House in Somerville
Boxwood Hall in Elizabeth
Rockingham Historic Site in Kingston
Recognizing the importance of heritage tourism and New Jersey's vital role in the birth of the United States, the goal of this project is to make our state's unique history come alive.
