Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, shared his views on various topics through a series of tweets on March 14, 2025.

In a tweet posted at 17:17 UTC, Gottheimer criticized the actions of Education Secretary McMahon regarding layoffs at the Department of Education. He stated, ".@EDSecMcMahon is already leading mass layoffs at @usedgov — slashing resources for our teachers, students with disabilities, and early childhood education programs." He expressed his unwillingness to tolerate what he described as far-right extremists affecting children's education and futures.

Later that day, at 19:32 UTC, Gottheimer extended greetings for Holi to those celebrating in North Jersey and globally. In his message he said, "Happy Holi to all who celebrate here in North Jersey and around the world! During the Festival of Colors, may you be filled with joy, renewal, and hope for this spring season."

In another tweet posted at 21:13 UTC on the same day, Gottheimer addressed concerns over a decision by the Administration to freeze FEMA grants. He noted that this action was delaying vital security resources for religious institutions and nonprofits reliant on the Non-Profit Security Grant Program. His statement highlighted rising antisemitism and hate crimes as reasons these federal resources are essential. He tweeted "The Administration's decision to freeze all FEMA grants is delaying crucial security resources for religious institutions and nonprofits who rely on the Non-Profit Security Grant Program."
