U.S. Representative Josh Gottheimer, serving New Jersey's 5th District since 2017, shared a series of statements on social media addressing current economic and social issues. Gottheimer, who was born in Livingston, New Jersey, and currently resides in Wyckoff, shared his views on tariffs, reproductive health care, and a local art competition.

On April 3, 2025, Representative Gottheimer expressed concern regarding the economic impact of tariffs introduced by former President Trump. In his words, "Not a 'Day of Liberation' — just a day of 'Chaos and Higher Costs' — and more to come." Gottheimer emphasized, "Trump’s reckless tariffs are driving us closer to a recession, and hardworking families will be hit the hardest. This is nothing but a massive tax on families."

In another statement on the same day, Gottheimer addressed the issue of reproductive health care. He stated, "Women are dying without access to safe and legal reproductive health care." He criticized the decision to block funding, asserting, "Trump's move to block funding for reproductive health care is especially dangerous." He affirmed his commitment by saying, "I’ll always oppose any attempt to stand between a woman, her doctor, and her faith when making personal health care decisions."

Representative Gottheimer also brought attention to an opportunity for young artists from his district. On April 3, 2025, he reminded constituents, "There are just two weeks left for NJ-5’s talented high school students to submit their artwork to the 2025 Congressional Art Competition." Regarding the competition, he said, "I’m excited to see your 2025 Congressional Art Competition submissions."
