Josh Gottheimer reflects on Pearl Harbor anniversary and local infrastructure developments

Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey's 5th district since 2017, recently shared his thoughts on significant national and local issues through a series of tweets. Born in Livingston, New Jersey, Gottheimer has been active in Congress following his education at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University.

On December 7, 2024, Rep. Gottheimer reflected on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. He stated, "On December 7, 1941, our country was changed forever." He noted that it was a day that will "live in infamy," honoring the lives lost and commemorating those who fought for the country.

In another tweet dated December 9, 2024, he discussed progress regarding infrastructure improvements in New Jersey. Gottheimer expressed optimism about advancements made towards upgrading the Port Authority Bus Terminal without raising taxes: "We’re one big step closer to upgrading the @PABusTerminal and improving mass transit options for hardworking Jersey families — without raising taxes."

Later that same day, Rep. Gottheimer addressed concerns about TikTok's influence under Chinese government control. He supported an Appeals Court decision aimed at mitigating these concerns: "Using TikTok, China’s government has the ability to control what an entire generation of Americans see & consume every single day." He expressed approval of legislation intended to force a sale to protect American interests.
