Rep Josh Gottheimer, currently serving as a congressman for New Jersey's 5th district, recently expressed his appreciation for local efforts and his stance on national issues through a series of tweets. These posts highlight his interactions with community leaders and his position on recent tariff policies.

On April 6, 2025, Gottheimer acknowledged the efforts of the Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce, stating, "Our Jersey Values stand strong across NJ-5 Thank you to the Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce for your leadership and generous support for the borough’s food pantry."

Later the same day, he met with small business owners in Westwood, addressing economic concerns, saying, "Great to *meat* with some of our incredible small business owners in Westwood this week. President Trump’s tariffs will raise prices for hardworking families and businesses, but I’m fighting back to lower costs and help make life more affordable." This tweet indicates his opposition to the tariffs introduced by former President Trump.

Additionally, Gottheimer pledged to amplify the concerns of families and businesses affected by tariffs, as noted in another April 6, 2025 post. He stated, "I’m ensuring Jersey families and small businesses can make their voices heard on how these tariffs are hurting them. I’ll be sending your stories to the White House and the U.S. Trade Representative — and if they’re smart, they’ll listen."
