Josh Gottheimer, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey's 5th district, has been vocal on social media about issues affecting his constituents. His recent tweets address healthcare and transportation concerns.

On February 19, 2025, Gottheimer highlighted the importance of the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), which supports over seven million children nationwide. He criticized "far-right extremists" for attempting to undermine this program and emphasized his commitment to defending it: "More than 7 million children across our country rely on the Children's Health Insurance Program for healthcare, yet far-right extremists are trying to take that away. This is unacceptable, and I’ll use every tool possible to protect Jersey families."

Later that day, he celebrated a significant victory for New Jersey families regarding transportation policy. Gottheimer described the defeat of the Congestion Tax as beneficial for both residents' finances and environmental efforts: "Today is a huge win for Jersey families, their wallets, and the environment. From Day One, when we first started this fight, we knew that the Congestion Tax was just a giant cash grab for New York and the MTA — all on the backs of hardworking Jersey families."

In a subsequent tweet posted almost simultaneously with his previous message, Gottheimer reaffirmed his dedication to advocating for New Jerseyans: "I’ll never stop fighting to protect Jersey families. As I always say, don’t mess with Jersey. Screw with us, and you’ll find out why."
