Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th District, has shared several updates on his recent activities and positions through social media. Gottheimer, who succeeded Scott Garrett in 2017, has been vocal about local and national issues.
On March 23, 2025, Gottheimer celebrated the Oradell Fire Department's past chiefs Greg Trass and Stanley Kufel Jr. during their 50th Anniversary Celebration. He noted that "Last week, #TeamGottheimer joined the 50th Anniversary Celebration for Oradell Fire Department’s past chiefs Greg Trass and Stanley Kufel Jr., where we honored their service with Congressional Certificates and flags." He expressed gratitude for their service by stating, "They’ve always had our backs, and I’ll always get theirs."
Later that day on March 23, he addressed a contentious issue involving New York's congestion tax cameras. Gottheimer asserted that "We’ll keep bringing the Jersey fight until New York turns off the Congestion Tax cameras — ending their absurd cash grab once and for all."
On March 24, Gottheimer echoed support for Coach Pearl's stance regarding American hostages. He stated his agreement by saying "Couldn't agree more with Coach Pearl. It’s time to bring American and New Jersey resident, Edan Alexander, and all the hostages home."
