On April 20, 2025, Gottheimer discussed his recent meeting with the National Beer Wholesalers Association. He tweeted, "Pete Hegseth’s reckless actions are directly endangering the lives of our brave service members. As I said before, and as a member of the House Intelligence Committee, he should be fired and replaced by someone who can properly protect America’s sensitive information".
