Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey's 5th district since 2017, has been vocal about various issues through his recent social media posts. Gottheimer, who replaced Scott Garrett in Congress, is actively involved in legislation and advocacy for diverse causes.

On February 12, 2025, Rep. Gottheimer emphasized the need for increased protection for Jewish students facing hate and threats. He stated, "We must do more to defend Jewish students from the constant hate and death threats too many see each day." He expressed pride in leading this effort in the House and called for bipartisan cooperation to enact related legislation.

The following day, on February 13, 2025, he announced his renewed commitment to LGBTQ+ rights by rejoining the Congressional Equality Caucus for the 119th Congress. He declared, "I’m proud to rejoin the Congressional @EqualityCaucus for the 119th Congress and continue to fight to protect the rights of all LGBTQ+ Americans!"

Later that same day, Rep. Gottheimer highlighted significant funding received by New Jersey universities from NIH grants amounting to over $400 million last year. He warned against potential funding cuts proposed by former President Trump and Elon Musk, stating that such actions would jeopardize vital research efforts. He remarked, "Trump and Musk’s attempts to cut this critical funding will only put these life-saving efforts at risk."
