As you may be aware, Norovirus cases are on the rise throughout New Jersey.
Also known as the “stomach flu” or “stomach bug,” Norovirus is a very contagious virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea. Anyone can get infected and sick with norovirus.
You can get Norovirus from: •Having direct contact with an infected person •Consuming contaminated food or water •Touching contaminated surfaces and then putting your unwashed hands in your mouth
Norovirus is not related to influenza (flu) but also tends to circulate during the winter months. While cases of Norovirus can be present anytime throughout the year, it is typically seen from November to April.
