The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation's Darren Drake Memorial Fund remembers Darren Scott Drake by supporting qualified students who want to pursue a trade or technical career.
Recently, The Darren Drake Act was signed into law in memory of its namesake and seven others, who were killed in 2017 in an attack along a walkway near the Hudson River in New York City. The law, sponsored by New Jersey Rep Josh Gottheimer directs the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to come up with best practices for car rental agencies to report suspicious behavior to law enforcement at the point of sale to prevent vehicles from being used as weapons of war.
