Rep Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, has made several announcements on social media about his legislative initiatives. An advocate for bipartisan collaboration, Gottheimer took to social media to highlight his recent efforts aimed at law enforcement protection and international trade regulation.

On April 9, 2025, Gottheimer emphasized the importance of supporting law enforcement officers through legislative measures. He stated, "Every day, our brave law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to protect all of us — we must always get their backs. That's why I’m reintroducing the bipartisan, bicameral Invest to Protect Act to protect our officers and families."

In a subsequent message posted moments later, Gottheimer acknowledged the collaboration with fellow lawmakers, stating, "I’m proud to be leading this bipartisan bill with retired sheriff @RepRutherfordFL and @RepHorsford. Our bill is also led in the Senate by @SenCortezMasto and Senator @ChuckGrassley."

Separately, on April 10, 2025, Gottheimer addressed trade regulation, expressing opposition to actions taken by former President Trump. He announced his involvement in proposing the Trade Review Act to assert congressional authority over international commerce. As per his statement, "President Trump’s reckless tariff whiplash has only caused mayhem and chaos. I’m fighting back by introducing the bipartisan Trade Review Act with @RepDonBacon, which makes clear that Congress — not the President — has the constitutional authority to oversee foreign trade."
