Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey's 5th district, took to social media on April 8, 2025, to address several pressing matters concerning wages, local businesses, and transportation taxes. Gottheimer, who has been in office since 2017, posted about these issues on his official account.

In a post commemorating "#AANHPIEqualPay Day" on April 8, 2025, Gottheimer highlighted the wage disparity that Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women face. He emphasized that these groups "lose up to $1 million over a lifetime," advocating for the Paycheck Fairness Act that he introduced to help address and resolve this inequality.

Another message on the same day addressed the devastation that sinkholes have caused to small businesses along Interstate-80 in New Jersey. Gottheimer expressed approval of the Small Business Administration's offering of low-interest loans and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy's push for a state grant program. He stressed the necessity of ensuring relief reaches affected businesses "quickly — with no red tape or delays."

Gottheimer's third post of the day criticized New York's congestion tax. In his tweet, he argued that the tax "is crushing small businesses," increasing operational costs for families and reducing consumer traffic. He urged New York to discontinue this policy, which he claims adversely affects hardworking families.
