Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 5th district, has recently expressed concerns over various issues through his social media posts. His tweets address economic challenges faced by families in New Jersey, data privacy within government systems, and antisemitism awareness in educational institutions.

On February 5, 2025, Rep. Gottheimer commented on the impact of new tariffs introduced by former President Donald Trump. He stated that "Jersey families are already struggling to make ends meet." He emphasized that "Trump’s new 25% tariff on all imports from Mexico and Canada will only make things worse," highlighting the potential negative effects on families already experiencing financial difficulties.

Later that day, Rep. Gottheimer raised concerns about data privacy in the U.S. Treasury Payment System. He asserted that "we must protect Americans’ personal info" and criticized Elon Musk's access to this information under the pretense of efficiency. He stressed that "critical programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security should never be put at risk."

On February 6, 2025, Rep. Gottheimer addressed antisemitism in universities following incidents involving Jewish students facing attacks without clear definitions of antisemitism being provided by institutions. In response to these events, he highlighted his bipartisan Antisemitism Awareness Act aimed at clarifying guidelines for schools nationwide to prevent pro-Hamas rhetoric: "Universities turned their backs on Jewish students as they faced antisemitic attacks..."
