Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey's 5th district since 2017, has been vocal on social media about his stance on various issues. His recent tweets address concerns regarding federal policies and funding priorities.

On February 4, 2025, Rep. Gottheimer expressed his opposition to any potential shutdown of the U.S. Department of Education by President Trump. He stated, "That’s why I’m also joining countless leaders across the country to make it clear to President Trump that he can’t just shut down @usedgov." He emphasized the need to resist actions by "far-right extremists" that could negatively impact families.

In another tweet on the same day, Rep. Gottheimer highlighted the importance of bipartisan support for childcare investments. He remarked, "There’s nothing partisan about investing in our childcare and our children’s futures."

Further addressing fiscal matters, Rep. Gottheimer announced his initiative to advocate for childcare funding in light of an upcoming government funding deadline. He tweeted, "Third, ahead of the government funding deadline next month, I’m writing a letter to congressional leadership & the Appropriations Committee stressing the importance of childcare funding and urging them to commit to not cutting a single dime of any childcare-related funding."
