Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey's 5th district since 2017, recently addressed concerns regarding drone sightings across New Jersey through a series of tweets. These statements emphasize the need for public briefings and increased resources for local law enforcement to manage drone activity effectively.

On December 13, 2024, Rep. Gottheimer shared via Twitter that he joined CNN and Jake Tapper to discuss the ongoing drone sightings in New Jersey. He stressed the importance of briefing the public and providing necessary resources to local law enforcement, stating, "We must brief the public, and we must provide local law enforcement with the resources they need to ensure Jersey isn't the Wild West for drone activity."

Later that day, on December 13, 2024, Rep. Gottheimer posted another update on Twitter, mentioning his appearance on MSNBC with Ana Cabrera to discuss updates on drone sightings in New Jersey. He reiterated his stance against allowing New Jersey to become a "Wild West" for drones and called for federal agencies to brief the public promptly and collaborate with local authorities.

In a subsequent tweet from December 13, 2024, Rep. Gottheimer urged federal agencies such as the FBI, DHS, and FAA to publicly address safety concerns related to drones by conducting immediate briefings instead of issuing paper statements. His tweet highlighted that "Jersey families who are concerned about their safety deserve an immediate public briefing."
