Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, recently shared several messages on social media reflecting his personal and professional engagements. Born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975, Gottheimer has been an active member of Congress after succeeding Scott Garrett. He resides in Wyckoff and holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University.
On June 1, 2025, Gottheimer extended festive greetings to his followers with a message saying “Chag Sameach from my family to yours! Wishing everyone a meaningful Shavuot filled with learning and celebration of our Jewish history.”
Later that day, he addressed a constituent issue involving the IRS. In his tweet, he recounted how “After her mother passed, Debbie spent months getting the runaround with the IRS while trying to claim her mother’s tax return. She reached out to our office, and we worked with a Taxpayer Advocate to help her close her mother’s estate and get the resolution she deserved.”
In another post on June 1st, Gottheimer expressed solidarity with the Boulder community following an incident during a peaceful march. He stated “My heart is with the Boulder community tonight after yet another horrific act of antisemitism during a peaceful march to remember the hostages held by Hamas. I’m praying for those injured and their loved ones. We must stand united against antisemitism and all forms of hate.”
