Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who represents New Jersey’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets highlighting local attractions, immigration policy, and maternal health disparities.
On April 17, 2026, Gottheimer expressed his support for one of New Jersey’s popular destinations: “Proud to support one of New Jersey’s top attractions @SFGrAdventure — bringing families together, creating thousands of local jobs, and driving tourism across our state. Nothing better than spending time with family while celebrating all that Jersey has to offer.”
Later that day, he addressed concerns regarding U.S. immigration policy toward Haitian residents: “Sending more than 350,000 vulnerable Haitians back to a humanitarian crisis after granting them legal residence in the U.S. is shameful, dangerous, and out of line with our values. On April 18, Gottheimer recognized Black Maternal Health Week and called for action on healthcare inequities: “Black Maternal Health Week is a call to action. As a proud member of the Black Maternal Health Caucus, I’m committed to ending the healthcare disparities that put black mothers at risk. We need accountability, equitable care, and real systemic change. The status quo is”
Gottheimer has represented New Jersey’s 5th district since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017 and currently resides in Wyckoff. He was born in Livingston in 1975 and holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
