Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who represents New Jersey’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on social media highlighting local events and expressing concerns about international affairs.

On September 2, 2025, Gottheimer praised musician Jon Bon Jovi for filming his latest music video in Teaneck, New Jersey. In his post, he stated: “From Cedar Lane to the spotlight, proud that @jonbonjovi chose Teaneck to film his latest music video for “Red, White, and Jersey.” What a great showcase of Jersey pride and an incredible town in North Jersey!”

The following day, September 3, 2025, Gottheimer shared details from a visit to Brookdale Emerson Assisted Living Center where he celebrated the birthday of a local resident. He wrote: “We had the honor of celebrating Emma Chance’s 101st birthday at Brookdale Emerson Assisted Living Center! A lifelong North Jersey resident, her story and commitment to family are truly inspiring. When I asked what her secret was, she said: “Beats the hell out of me!””

Later on September 3, Gottheimer addressed international security concerns regarding Russia, China, and North Korea. He posted: “Putin, Xi, and Kim Jong Un are strengthening their alliance — threatening our democracy and national security. The U.S. must stand together with our allies to confront this Axis of Evil and defend freedom around the world. “

Josh Gottheimer has served as the representative for New Jersey’s 5th District since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017. Born in Livingston in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff at age 48, Gottheimer is an alumnus of both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
