Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who represents New Jersey’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on November 15, 2025, addressing topics ranging from local history and health care to foreign policy.
In his first post of the day, Gottheimer highlighted a community event involving a significant historical site: “The historic Old Paramus Reformed Church has served our community for 300 years — including even George Washington during the Revolutionary War. The church will hold a concert today in Ridgewood as they work to preserve this incredible landmark. More https://t.co/9jJNVlrWEl” (November 15, 2025).
Later that afternoon, Gottheimer addressed concerns about health care costs and legislative negotiations: “I’ve been clear: We must protect families from surging health care costs. Now, I’m leading a group of House Democrats and Republicans calling on the Senate to include the House in negotiations to address the ACA tax credits set to expire. https://t.co/CSx9bHiaEG” (November 15, 2025).
In an evening statement on foreign relations, he wrote: “The Turkish government has a long record of hostility toward Israel, Greece, and the Republic of Cyprus — and maintains ties to Hamas terrorists. I remain deeply skeptical of Turkey’s intentions, reliability in ensuring peace, and potential role in Syria’s stabilization. https://t.co/iTlE83fV6m” (November 15, 2025).
Gottheimer has served as the representative for New Jersey’s 5th District since 2017 after replacing Scott Garrett. He was born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently resides in Wyckoff. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in 1997 and earned his JD from Harvard University in 2004.
