Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who represents New Jersey’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted several issues on September 2, 2025, through a series of posts on his official social media account.

In a post published at 12:10 p.m., Gottheimer announced the launch of New Jersey’s first veterinary program at Rowan University. He wrote, “Before now, students who wanted to attend veterinary school had to leave New Jersey. I’m so proud that @RowanUniversity is launching our state’s first veterinary program — an incredible milestone for our students and furry friends.”

Later that day, at 6:39 p.m., Gottheimer addressed concerns about Turkey’s actions toward U.S. allies and partners. He stated, “We must stand up against Turkey’s aggression toward our allies and partners. I’m leading a bipartisan amendment to block the sale or transfer of U.S. weapons to Turkey to stop Turkey’s repeated violations of our allies’ sovereignty. Threats against Cyprus, Greece, or Israel”.

At 9:02 p.m., he commemorated the anniversary marking eight decades since the end of World War II by referencing his family history and expressing support for veterans: “Today marks 80 years since the end of World War II. As the grandson of a World War II veteran, today is a reminder that we must always get the backs of our brave veterans who sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms.”

Gottheimer has served in Congress since 2017 after replacing Scott Garrett as representative for New Jersey’s 5th district. Born in Livingston in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff, he holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University.
