Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who has represented New Jersey’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently highlighted local community efforts and legislative priorities in a series of posts on social media.
On November 15, 2025, Gottheimer shared his support for first responders in Paramus: “Our first responders are always getting the backs of families in need — and that’s especially true with the holidays around the corner. Proud to see our first responders in Paramus handing out turkeys for families ahead of Thanksgiving! “
The following day, on November 16, 2025, he addressed public health concerns regarding tick-borne allergies: “A New Jersey man tragically became the first to be killed by a tick-caused allergy. I’m fighting for bipartisan legislation to track tick bites and risk areas so that families can better protect themselves. There is nothing partisan about protecting our communities.”
Later that same day, Gottheimer congratulated several local schools for receiving national recognition: “11 New Jersey schools received the National Blue Ribbon Award for excellence in education and testing — including Elisabeth Morrow School in Englewood. Congratulations to all our incredible educators, administrators, parents, and students!”
Gottheimer has served as the U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 5th District since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017. He was born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently resides in Wyckoff. His educational background includes a BA from the University of Pennsylvania (1997) and a JD from Harvard University (2004).
