Rep. Josh Gottheimer, U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, posted a series of updates on May 10, 2026, covering community engagement, remembrance of a prominent figure, and legislative efforts on artificial intelligence.
On the afternoon of May 10, Gottheimer highlighted his participation in a local veterans’ event by posting: “#TeamGottheimer was glad to join the Wyckoff YMCA for their 14th Annual Roll Call for Veterans this afternoon. Later that day, Gottheimer expressed condolences regarding the passing of Abe Foxman, former leader of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and Holocaust survivor. In his post he stated: “I was very sad to learn of the passing of our friend, courageous voice of reason, @ADL’s Abe Foxman. Abe was a Holocaust survivor who dedicated his life to the fight against antisemitism, wherever or whenever it reared its ugly head. May his legacy live on and may his memory be”.
In an additional update from the same day, Gottheimer addressed policy development concerning artificial intelligence. Gottheimer has represented New Jersey’s 5th District since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017. Born in Livingston in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff, he holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
