Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district, shared several updates through his social media account. Born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff, Gottheimer has served in Congress since replacing Scott Garrett in 2017. He holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Harvard University.
On June 4, 2025, Gottheimer expressed appreciation for the visit by members of the Sikh Federation of America to his Washington office. He stated his commitment to developing a federal definition of anti-Sikhism to combat hate and discrimination. “Great to see members of the Sikh Federation of America here at my office in Washington today! I’m fighting to develop a federal definition of anti-Sikhism to help combat hate and discrimination, because everyone deserves to live and worship without fear.”
The following day on June 5, he reflected on a meeting with NJ REALTORS. He expressed gratitude for their contributions and outlined his legislative priorities aimed at making New Jersey more affordable for families. “Great meeting with @NJ_REALTORS yesterday! Really grateful for all they do for Jersey and our communities! In Congress, I’m fighting to restore the SALT deduction, build more housing, get costs down, and make Jersey more affordable for our families.”
Later that same day, Gottheimer addressed recent actions by the Trump Administration concerning women’s access to emergency care. He criticized these steps as an attack on women’s health and reproductive freedom. “This week, the Trump Administration took steps to prevent women from having access to lifesaving emergency care. Let’s be clear: this is a direct attack on women’s health and reproductive freedom. I’ll always oppose any attempt to stand between a woman, her doctor, and her”
