On March 17, 2025, Gottheimer announced the “Expanding Access to School Meals Act,” aiming to ensure that children eligible for reduced meals receive them at no cost. He emphasized that New Jersey has already implemented such measures and advocated for making it a national priority. “Second, I’m announcing the Expanding Access to School Meals Act, to ensure children who qualify for reduced meals receive them at no cost. Jersey has already done this, and there is no reason why it shouldn’t be a national priority.”
In another tweet posted shortly after on the same day, Gottheimer highlighted the non-partisan nature of feeding children and supporting their education through school breakfast and lunch programs. He stressed its importance for children’s health and wellness. “There’s nothing red or blue about feeding our children and educating the leaders of the future — it’s why school breakfast and lunch has always been a bipartisan issue. It’s the right thing to do for our children’s health & wellness.”
The following day, on March 18, 2025, Gottheimer expressed his commitment to making homeownership accessible by working with New Jersey realtors on restoring the SALT deduction. He underscored homeownership as a key aspect of the American Dream and discussed efforts to make it achievable for families in New Jersey. “Homeownership has long been a cornerstone of the American Dream.
