Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who represents New Jersey’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, marked several key issues in a series of recent social media posts.
On August 15, 2025, Gottheimer acknowledged the anniversary of a significant historical event: “Today is the 80th Anniversary of V-J Day — marking the end of WWII. As the grandson of a World War II veteran, today is deeply significant and a reminder that we must always get the backs of our brave veterans who sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms.”
The following day, August 16, he addressed economic concerns related to federal policy: “It’s clear: Trump’s tariffs are driving up costs and hurting Jersey families. We must remain laser-focused on making life more affordable — not more expensive.”
On August 17, Gottheimer used his platform to inform constituents about available support services: “Need assistance with a federal agency? Call or visit my District office and a member of my all-star casework team can help!”
Gottheimer has served as the representative for New Jersey’s 5th district since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017. He was born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently resides in Wyckoff. The congressman holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
