Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, recently addressed several topics on his official social media account, ranging from online safety for teens to holiday greetings and recognition of space exploration achievements.
On April 12, 2026, Gottheimer posted about the dangers of explicit deepfakes targeting teenagers and the need for stronger online regulations. He wrote: “Teens should not have to worry about people spreading sexually explicit deepfakes of them. This is exactly why we need smart, commonsense rules online to prevent the spread of harmful content.

Later that same day, he extended holiday wishes to those observing Greek Easter. In his post he said: “Wishing a joyful Greek Easter to all celebrating—Χριστός Ανέστη! May this day bring hope, renewal, and time with loved ones. “ (April 12, 2026).
On April 13, Gottheimer congratulated the Artemis II crew and the broader team behind the mission’s success. He stated: “Congratulations to the Artemis II crew and the incredible team who made this mission a success. Bold, determined, and reaching higher than ever — this is American innovation at its best.
Proud of the scientists, engineers, and astronauts showing what the greatest country in the” (April 13, 2026).
Gottheimer has represented New Jersey’s 5th District in Congress since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017. Born in Livingston in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff at age 48, he holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
