Rep. Josh Gottheimer, U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, recently addressed local achievements and national issues through a series of posts on his official social media account.
On November 17, 2025, Gottheimer highlighted the Kunisch family’s long-standing service to North Jersey: “For 90 years & across 4 generations, the Kunisch family has proudly served North Jersey. Congratulations to the Allendale and Mahwah Bar & Grill restaurants on receiving the @NJRHAssociation’s Restaurateur of the Year Award!”
Addressing education policy on November 19, 2025, he commented on recent actions by a major teachers’ association: “Anyone who spews hate-filled, violent rhetoric should not have a role influencing our educators and classrooms. I’m glad NJEA is finally taking action.”
Later that same day, Gottheimer turned attention to healthcare policy: “We can’t just let ACA tax credits expire. We must protect families from surging health care costs. I led a bipartisan group of 32 Members in calling on Senate leadership to ensure we work together to address the cost crisis headed for families next year.”
Gottheimer has represented New Jersey’s 5th District in Congress since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017. Born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff, he holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University.
