Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, addressed issues ranging from local business support to international antisemitism in a series of posts on April 29, 2026.
In his first post at 20:14 UTC, Gottheimer commented on the merchandise available at a prominent rest stop in New Jersey: “If you are at the James Gandolfini Rest Stop on the Parkway, you shouldn’t be hammered with a bunch of “I Love NY” merchandise. You should just see a bunch of Jersey shirts, hats, and snow globes! It’s not only about Jersey pride. It’s also about helping our small businesses and https://t.co/d1x3GqPBqZ”.
Later that evening at 22:55 UTC, he issued a brief statement regarding a Supreme Court decision: “My statement on today’s Supreme Court decision: https://t.co/ld46hY7yKC”.
At 23:06 UTC, Gottheimer responded to recent attacks targeting the Jewish community in London by stating: “These attacks highlight our duty to call out antisemitism. We must stand up and speak out. I am praying for a speedy recovery for the two injured and the entire London Jewish community is in my thoughts.”
Gottheimer has served as New Jersey’s 5th District representative since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017. He was born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently resides in Wyckoff. His educational background includes degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University.
