Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who represents New Jersey’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, marked a range of issues and community events in a series of posts on March 13, 2026.
In his first post of the day, Gottheimer highlighted Irish American Heritage Month: “This March, we celebrate the generations of Irish Jersey families who have shaped our great state and nation. Sláinte to the rich traditions Irish Americans have brought to our communities!” (March 13, 2026).
Later that morning, he shared details from a visit to a local business: “Loved my morning with the team and at the drive through window at McDonald’s in Hackensack! Great discussion with the owner of this thriving Jersey small business. I’ll keep fighting to support our local small businesses in Congress and here at home, so they can continue to” (March 13, 2026).
In an evening statement responding to national events, Gottheimer addressed concerns about antisemitism: “Yesterday’s horrific attack in Michigan was felt by the entire Jewish community, and it’s just another example of the spike in antisemitism we are seeing across the country. We all have to stand united against antisemitism and all forms of hate — and ensure freedom of religion.” (March 13, 2026).
Gottheimer has represented New Jersey’s 5th district since replacing Scott Garrett in Congress in 2017. He was born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently resides in Wyckoff. He is an alumnus of both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD), having graduated from those institutions in 1997 and 2004 respectively.
