Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, used his social media platform on May 13, 2026, to comment on recent reports and national events.

In a post published at 14:01 UTC, Gottheimer addressed the findings of a new report documenting Hamas’s actions during the October 7 attacks. He wrote, “The new report detailing Hamas atrocities on October 7 is horrifying beyond words. An hour later, at 15:01 UTC, Gottheimer criticized The New York Times and columnist Nick Kristof for their coverage of the same events. He stated, “WTF @nytimes! We should”.

Later that day at 16:00 UTC, Gottheimer shifted focus to National Police Week in Washington D.C., honoring law enforcement officers who lost their lives in service. He posted, “This week, law enforcement officers from across our nation are gathering in Washington for National Police Week. We honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting our communities — and we stand with the families they left behind. To every officer who”.

Gottheimer has represented New Jersey’s 5th District since replacing Scott Garrett in Congress in 2017 (https://www.house.gov/representatives). Born in Livingston in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff at age 48, he holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
