The Borough of Ramsey announced on March 19 that it will hold a Styrofoam recycling collection event on Saturday, April 18. The event is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Ramsey Train Station parking lot on Main Street.
The initiative aims to encourage residents to recycle expanded polystyrene (EPS) #6 Styrofoam, which is commonly used in packaging materials. Proper disposal and recycling of Styrofoam can help reduce landfill waste and support environmental sustainability efforts in the community.
Residents are asked to ensure that all Styrofoam brought for recycling is clean and dry, with all labels and tape removed before drop-off. The borough specified that packing peanuts and food containers such as to-go boxes or cups will not be accepted during this collection.
For questions about the event, residents are encouraged to contact Reeva at r2esva@gmail.com.
This collection provides an opportunity for Ramsey residents to responsibly dispose of certain types of Styrofoam while supporting local recycling initiatives.
