Josh Gottheimer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, took to social media to express his concerns on various issues. Through a series of tweets, Gottheimer discussed matters ranging from federal employment to regional transportation policies, and international incidents.

On April 28, 2025, Gottheimer shared, “I joined 113 of my colleagues in sending a letter to @SecKennedy to reinstate the 1,500+ NIOSH team members across the country who’ve been terminated — including those who support the World Trade Center Health Program and the Cancer Registry.” This statement highlights his involvement in a collective effort aiming to reverse the termination of numerous National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) team members.

The following day, April 29, 2025, Gottheimer addressed a regional transportation issue in another tweet: “All on the backs of hardworking Jersey families — it’s ridiculous. New York and the MTA must comply with the federal directive, shut the cameras off, and stop treating Jersey commuters like their personal piggy bank.” His comments reflect his dissatisfaction with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s actions, urging them to adhere to federal rules and cautioning against the financial strain on New Jersey commuters.

Later on the same day, he commented on a tragic international event, stating “The terrorist attack in Kashmir this month, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists and injured many more, was disgusting and appalling. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. I stand with the people of India against terrorism and violent extremism.” Gottheimer expressed his sorrow and solidarity with India following a terrorist attack that resulted in the death of 26 tourists in Kashmir, underscoring his stance against terrorism.

Gottheimer, born in 1975 in Livingston, New Jersey, currently resides in Wyckoff. He holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Harvard University, bringing both educational and experiential backgrounds to his congressional role.
