Rep. Josh Gottheimer, serving New Jersey’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, recently expressed concerns and shared updates on social media regarding various issues impacting New Jersey. His focus encompasses tariffs affecting supply chains, art competitions, and rail line upgrades.

On April 16, 2025, Gottheimer highlighted an article from the New Jersey Herald, pointing out the potential impact of tariffs proposed by former President Trump. He emphasized the risk these tariffs pose to New Jersey’s supply chain, stating, “From the front page of today’s @NJHerald: Trump’s tariffs ‘would affect every aspect of New Jersey’s supply chain industry.’ This chaos whacks Jersey’s businesses, families, and communities with higher prices and more uncertainty. It’s crushing our economy. We need common-sense”.

The following day, on April 17, 2025, Gottheimer encouraged participation in the Congressional Art Competition through social media by inviting constituents to vote online for a high school student artist from the 5th District. He posted, “Every year, high school student artists from across NJ-5 submit their incredible pieces of artwork to the Congressional Art Competition. Cast your vote here to decide which work will represent New Jersey’s 5th District in the halls of Congress!”.

Later that same day, Gottheimer welcomed infrastructure improvements by Amtrak affecting New Jersey’s rail lines. He linked these upgrades to his ongoing efforts to enhance commuter experiences, noting, “I’m glad to see @Amtrak making upgrades to NJ Transit’s busiest rail lines as they work to avoid another ‘Summer of Hell.’ I’ll keep fighting to pass my All Aboard Act to protect Jersey commuters and ensure passengers get refunds for delayed trains.”

Josh Gottheimer, 48, was born in Livingston, New Jersey, and resides in Wyckoff. He holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University and has represented the 5th District since replacing Scott Garrett in 2017.
