On February 11, 2025, Rep. Gottheimer criticized President Trump for not fulfilling promises to lower grocery costs. He stated, “Promises made, promises broken. Despite President Trump’s promises of lowering grocery costs, egg prices are skyrocketing.” He urged the President to reverse a decision regarding communication at the CDC about the bird flu outbreak.
In another tweet on February 12, 2025, he highlighted the importance of Medicaid for vulnerable populations by stating that it is “a vital lifeline that millions of families, seniors, and people with disabilities count on.” Gottheimer pledged to oppose any attempts to cut such essential programs.
Later that day, he reiterated his commitment to reducing living costs for residents by tweeting “Jersey families want lower prices — not chaos and uncertainty.” He assured his continued efforts to protect consumer finances and improve affordability.
