Rep. Josh Gottheimer, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 5th district, has recently expressed concerns over several critical issues through a series of tweets. These posts address domestic budgetary matters and international security concerns.
On June 17, 2025, Rep. Gottheimer criticized the current budget bill, describing it as “a disaster for Jersey.” He stated that “extremists are trying to find ways to make it worse by further cutting Medicaid and reducing the SALT deduction.” In response, he mentioned writing to Senate Majority Leader John Thune urging protection for essential programs. The following day, on June 18, 2025, Rep. Gottheimer turned his attention to international affairs with a focus on the Middle East situation. Later that same day, Rep. Gottheimer reiterated his stance on U.S.-Iran relations and support for Israel.
