Representative Josh Gottheimer, serving in the U.S. Congress for New Jersey’s 5th district, has taken to social media to address several pressing issues. Recently, he discussed upcoming electrical bill changes, honored a notable sports figure, and expressed his sentiments following a tragic event in Florida.
On April 17, Gottheimer highlighted the increase in electricity bills for New Jersey residents. “Electric bills in Jersey will rise by 20% starting in June,” he wrote, pointing out the financial strain it would place on families and seniors. To combat this, he is advocating for his Energy Costs Relief Act to help alleviate the burden.
Later that evening, on the same date, Gottheimer celebrated Billie Jean King’s recognition on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “I’m thrilled to see…Billie Jean King honored,” he announced, noting her trailblazing achievements and their mutual efforts in protecting Title IX legislation.
The following morning, on April 18, Gottheimer addressed a tragic shooting in Florida. “I’m sickened by the shooting today in Florida,” he conveyed, extending his prayers for the victims’ families and well wishes for those recovering.
Josh Gottheimer has been a member of Congress since 2017, following his predecessor Scott Garrett, and currently resides in Wyckoff, New Jersey. Born in Livingston and educated at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University, Gottheimer continues to advocate for his constituency.
