Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, recently shared updates on his activities and views through a series of posts on social media.
On May 16, 2026, Gottheimer expressed gratitude for being hosted by law enforcement organizations in Washington during Police Week: “Thank you to the National Association of Police Officers for having me at their Washington Police Week luncheon. It was great to catch up with officers from the proud New Jersey State PBA and Port Authority PBA here in the Capitol! I will always get the backs of the brave police https://t.co/bTTGntxUNq”.
Later that day, he commented on legislative developments involving Rep. Rashida Tlaib and Hezbollah: “.@RepRashida is forcing a vote next week to back Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed designated Foreign Terrorist Organization that has American blood on its hands. Hezbollah killed 220 U.S. Marines in their barracks in 1983 and assisted the bombings of our embassies in Kenya and https://t.co/xDXhygAHkh”.
In another post dated May 16, 2026, Gottheimer highlighted community engagement by hosting a ceremony for local scouts: “Today, I hosted our annual District Scout Honor Ceremony, one of my favorite traditions. Gottheimer has represented New Jersey’s 5th District since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017. Born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff, he holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
